Central Louisiana Community Foundation Announces Q2 Opportunity Grant Winners

The Central Louisiana Community Foundation (CLCF) is delighted to announce the recipients of the Q2 Opportunity Grants. This program, launched in April 2018, provides small grants ranging from $250 to $2,000 to support projects addressing crucial community needs across Central Louisiana. We are honored to support the innovative efforts of the following organizations, each working to make a significant impact on the lives of our residents.

Children’s Advocacy Network
Project Name: Therapy in a Box                                                   
The Children’s Advocacy Network’s Therapy Program serves children aged 3-18 who have experienced trauma. Their “Therapy in a Box” initiative provides personalized therapy tools that children can take home after completing treatment. These boxes help reinforce the coping skills learned during therapy, offering long-term support for these young survivors.

Cenla Pregnancy Center
Project Name: Education Services – English and Spanish         
Cenla Pregnancy Center is enhancing its education program across three centers, offering crucial prenatal and parenting resources in both English and Spanish. By partnering with BrightCourse, the center provides evidence-based video lessons to empower and educate mothers, helping them develop sustainable life skills.

Starfish Ministries
Project Name: Come to the Table: Creating Connection Amongst Central Louisiana Families                     
Starfish Ministries’ “Come to the Table” community event fosters family togetherness by encouraging families to share meals and engage in interactive activities. This initiative aims to strengthen family bonds and promote a more connected community, addressing the need for quality family time in today’s busy world.

Junior League of Alexandria
Project Name: Inspiration Village for Girls on the Run Central Louisiana                                         
The Junior League of Alexandria is enhancing its partnership with Girls on the Run Central Louisiana by creating an “Inspiration Village” during their 5K events. This vibrant space will feature customizable bandanas, temporary tattoos, and a selfie station, fostering a fun and supportive environment that celebrates the achievements of the participants.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana
Project Name: Youth Mentoring for Ages 6 to Young Adulthood                                                       
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana is building a sustainable youth mentoring program in Allen and Vernon Parishes. This program focuses on defending the potential of at-risk youth by providing mentorship, promoting educational success, and reducing the risk factors for juvenile delinquency through trauma-informed care and positive connections.

We are proud to support these projects through the Opportunity Grants Program, helping to foster positive change and growth in Central Louisiana.
